Despite retaining its rough edge, the latest generation GSX-R1000 manages to combine aggressiveness and character with an almost telepathic throttle response and power delivery. Of the four bikes, it’s easiest to ride on the track, which causes Honda to lose first place, as it also has a sense of absolute control, just with an even faster engine.
GSX-R1000 Review
These bikes really do have your hair cut when it comes to handling as there really isn’t any bad handling between them, but the Suzuki has a slight edge over the competition in every department. The GSX-R rides the start/finish straight and is always the fastest bike because the engine is so responsive and the chassis so balanced.
On bumpy, undulating corners, where Kawasaki (especially), Yamaha and Honda, move their front end, the GSX-R stays completely in line. to be honest this
I’m surprised because I’ve always been a fan of Honda’s electronic steering damper and although Suzuki has copied this idea with the GSX-R, it doesn’t look like the technologically advanced, but it works very well and comes out on the straight at the end. piece, the GSX-R is the fastest bike because of its exit speed.
“It’s very planted and very easy to ride very fast,” is Evil’s summary, “not the best at everything, Honda brakes are better, but overall it’s the best on the track, just
along the Fireblade.”
Max Biaggi, Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra WSB
Max says: “If I find a good feeling with a bike, I can push hard. Sometimes small changes can make a big difference, so we need to take a step-by-step approach…”
We say: The best basic package. There is nothing to complain or complain about here, not even in the middle of the season. ahem.
